April brings unparalleled beauty, and the most enchanting scene is children reading in the library right at their doorstep. On the morning of April 20, the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room, a donation from Desay SV, was officially inaugurated. Located in the old library of Moyuan Village, Hengli Town, Huicheng District, the inauguration ceremony took place in front of the library. Attendees included Liu Jin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Huicheng District Committee and Director of the Press and Publication Bureau of Huicheng District,Hu Canming, Second-level Principal Staff Member of the Publicity Department of the CPC Huicheng District Committee, Deng Lili, Vice Chair of the Women's Federation of Huicheng District, Kuang Yun, Member of the CPC Hengli Town Committee, and Liu Honglan, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of Moyuan Village, as well as representatives from the Huicheng District Nationwide Reading Promotion Association and Desay SV.

In December 2023, Desay SV hosted the "Sixth Student-Aid Public Service Event" in Moyuan Village. Participants raised funds through a step conversion program, with all proceeds dedicated to the operation and development of the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room. After nearly six months of preparation, the reading room is now complete and ready to open.

(The reading room houses 1,000 books, all labeled by age group, allowing children to read freely in the area.)

At the inauguration ceremony, we shared our commitment to public welfare, highlighting our signature initiatives over the past decade, such as the "Care for Yellow Roses", "Library Plan", and "Qingkui Plan". Launched in 2016, the Library Plan has contributed over 25 diverse reading rooms to impoverished regions, local communities, and schools, including the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room.
In 2021, in line with our public welfare strategy and the actual needs of the beneficiaries, we shifted our focus from "giving a fish"—providing children with physical books and e-books filled with quality content—to "teaching to fish". This approach offers a range of comprehensive services, including carefully selected books, engaging activities, and professional training for reading volunteers, to create a multidimensional, holistic, and sustainable reading support system for public libraries. We aim to ensure that every book in the library is picked up and opened, and help nearby children develop a genuine habit of reading in the library.

(The development of the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room consists of three components: a collection of 1,000 carefully selected books, a variety of enriching children's reading activities, and a professional training system for reading volunteers.)

(Hu Canming, Second-level Principal Staff Member of the Publicity Department of the CPC Huicheng District Committee, presents the certificate to a Moyuan volunteer.)

At the event, Liu Jin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Huicheng District Committee and Director of the Press and Publication Bureau of Huicheng District, commended the innovative approach to space management. He noted that the official launch of the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room provides a new platform for promoting reading throughout Huicheng District and contributes to the development of a child-friendly city. He expressed hopes that all parties would come together around this space to collaborate in using reading to foster cultural development in rural areas, leverage culture to support rural revitalization, and take concrete actions to advance Huicheng District's "    Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Project".

(Liu Jin, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Huicheng District Committee, extends his congratulations on the opening of the reading room during the ceremony.)

Following the ceremony, attendees toured the Moyuan Child-Friendly Reading Room to experience its reading-friendly atmosphere. Volunteers entertained the children with engaging reading programs.

(Volunteers perform the string puppet show "Magic Soup" for the children.)
